A warm, heart centered, inclusive approach to Tarot (without the fear based predictions)
Founded by Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul offers online Soul Tarot® courses, immersive retreats, and soul-led community for sensitive, soul-led folks who want to form a deep and lasting connection with the cards
Soul Tarot® is an approach to Tarot reading that considers the cards from a soul centered, inclusive, trauma informed, non-predictive, evolutionary perspective, rooted in common sense and critical thinking. It is an invitation to learn how to read Tarot for anything that arises, to show up to our decks in the present moment, and engage with them as integral helping tools in moments of anxiety, uncertainty, chronic pain, or grief.
If the Tarot has historically felt too overwhelming, frightening, or confusing for you, you’ve come to the right place to shift that.
The Pillars of Soul Tarot
In Soul Tarot – Lindsay’s revolutionary approach to the cards – we can look to select pillars that can allow us to build and foster a gentle and consistent Tarot practice, one where the cards feel like beloved kin, as opposed to harsh or worrisome harbingers. These pillars are at the heart of every offering and resource that Lindsay (and Tarot for the Wild Soul) provides.
-
No matter how spiky the image on the cards may be, they all offer some useful medicine. Whether the medicine is sweet or bitter, it is helpful to assume that the cards we pull in a reading bring us something we need, even if we don’t immediately know what that is.
-
There is no fixed future. All we have is this moment. When we are truly willing to come home to that understanding, we will be able to lean on the Tarot as a humble tool that can help us be with what is, rather than one that swings us from the past to the future.
-
In the Soul Tarot approach, we are encouraged to come to our Tarot at the messy, broken place and let the cards nourish us from there, rather than trying to clean it all up before we ask for help.
-
In Soul Tarot, no card ever commands, demands, forces, points a terrifying finger, or offers a harsh, point-blank telling of how it’s going to be. Each card is an invitation, one that we are welcome to accept or reject, one that we have agency around working with.
Hello! I’m Lindsay Mack, and I’m so glad you’re here.
My journey with the Tarot (and with birthing Soul Tarot®, which is my signature approach to the cards) started in a used bookstore in Montclair, NJ in 1996 at the age of 12 — as so many great things do.
I saw a Smith-Rider Waite deck in the metaphysical section and fell in love at first sight.
As I pored through the various Tarot books I purchased along with my first Tarot deck, I felt baffled and put off by how fear-based the card meanings could be. The Tower always signaled disaster? Three of Swords meant you were going to get stabbed in the back? I knew, even at that tender age, that there had to be a different way of approaching the cards.
Purchasing that first deck nearly 30 years ago would be the unwitting beginning to a deeply spiralic path that led me from trauma survivor to performance artist living in NYC to wellness coach to celebrated and renowned Tarot reader, teacher, and author who has taught and supported tens of thousands of students, and reached millions of folks with my top ranking podcast, Tarot for the Wild Soul.
The concept of Soul Tarot is practical, simple, and revolutionary: Rather than treating the cards as a tool for the future, it honors Tarot as an invitation to root into the present moment, one that can help us find our way back home to ourselves amid any experience.
This approach has been a deep balm for me in my own journey through trauma, chronic illness, parenting, and heartbreak. It has been a deep honor to teach and hold space for tens of thousands of folks who have felt called to this work, too.
If you feel called to dive into one of our offerings, I would be honored to support you.
